As an avid outdoorsman, Chuck Nash relocated to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado to be closer to the activities he loves most: fly fishing, skiing, hiking, and golfing. After several years of living in Eagle, CO, Chuck and his wife Gail relocated to Gypsum, a smaller community where light pollution barely made a dent in the night sky. One night, Chuck stepped out into his backyard and saw the Milky Way in all its glory. He was amazed.

Years later, Chuck and Gail noticed a long trail of cars and discovered they were waiting to view an eclipse at a community gathering. Chuck was able to borrow some disposable safety glasses but was immediately captivated by an amateur astronomer who had brought his own telescope. That moment sparked something in him.
